500 grams of Mild Italian Sausage
1 c Orzo Pasta
½ Onion
salt and pepper to taste
2 c Spinach (Tightly Packed)
2 teaspoons Italian Seasoning
4 c Chicken Broth
½ c Parmesan Cheese (to serve)
½ teaspoon red Chili Flakes (optional)
Directions:
Place a heavy-bottomed pan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Add oil and allow it to become hot.
Add the garlic and onion, then sauté for a few minutes until soft and aromatic.
Add the sausages into the hot pan, then cook for about 5 minutes or until crumbly and brown.
Pour in the stock, then scrape the bottom of the pan to get the browned bits.
Add the chili flakes, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and tomatoes. Stir until well blended. Allow the mixture to boil.
Add the Orzo pasta and stir until just combined.
Cover the pot with the lid, then cook the pasta for about 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente.
Add the spinach, then stir and cook for 2 minutes. Remove from the heat.
Add half & half, then stir until well blended.
Top each serving with Parmesan cheese.
Serve and enjoy!
Notes:
Place any leftovers in an airtight container, then place them inside the fridge to prevent them from spoiling. Reheat when serving again.
