Roasted Ground Moose with Vegetables and Brown Gravy

Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 45-60 minutes
Serves: 4-6

Ingredients:

1 pound ground moose (you can substitute with ground beef or another lean ground meat)
2 cups carrots, chopped into bite-sized pieces
2 cups celery, chopped
2 cups turnip, chopped
2 cups potatoes, chopped into bite-sized pieces
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons olive oil
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 cups brown gravy (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions:

1. Preheat the Oven:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Prepare the Vegetables:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped carrots, celery, turnip, potatoes, and minced garlic.
Drizzle the olive oil over the vegetables, season with salt and pepper, and toss to coat them evenly.
3. Roast the Vegetables:

Spread the seasoned vegetables out on a baking sheet in a single layer.
Roast in the preheated oven for about 30-40 minutes or until the vegetables are tender and lightly browned, tossing them occasionally for even cooking.
4. Cook the Ground Moose:

While the vegetables are roasting, in a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground moose (or your chosen ground meat) until it’s browned and cooked through, breaking it apart into crumbles as it cooks.
Once cooked, drain any excess fat if needed.
5. Prepare the Brown Gravy:

In a separate saucepan, heat the brown gravy over low heat until it’s warmed through. If you’re using homemade gravy, make sure it’s ready at this stage.
6. Combine and Serve:

When the vegetables are roasted to your liking, remove them from the oven.
In a large serving dish or individual plates, layer the roasted vegetables.
Top the vegetables with the cooked ground moose.
7. Drizzle with Gravy:

Pour the warm brown gravy generously over the ground moose and vegetables.
8. Serve Hot:

Serve immediately while the dish is hot.
Enjoy your hearty and comforting dinner of Roasted Ground Moose with Vegetables and Brown Gravy!
