FRENCH ONION SAVORY MINCE

This French Onion Savory Mince is baked to perfection in the oven! Put a pack of French onion soup mix and some cheese to the mince, and you are good to go!

Ingredients:

500g beef mince

40g sachet French onion soup mix

2 carrots, peeled and diced

1 c frozen peas

1 brown onion, diced

1 c grated tasty cheese

150g macaroni

1/4 c tomato sauce

1 tablespoon olive oil

Directions:

Prepare the oven and preheat to 350 degrees F or 180 degrees C.

Apply cooking spray to an oven-safe baking dish.

Place a large pot with water on the stove and turn the heat to high. Allow the water to boil.

Add the macaroni and a bit of salt, then cook until firm to bite or al dente. Drain and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process.

Put a large frying pan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.

Add oil and allow it to become hot.

Add the onion, then sauté until translucent.

Add the beef mince, then cook until crumbly and brown.

Add the carrots, French onion soup, and 2 cups of water. Stir until well blended, then bring the mixture to a boil.

Turn the heat down to low and simmer everything for about 15 minutes.

Add the tomato sauce, cooked macaroni, and peas. Stir everything until well combined.

Move the contents of the pan into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Sprinkle cheese on top.

Place it in the preheated oven and bake for about 15 minutes or until the cheese turns golden brown.

Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes:

Make sure to taste first before adding seasonings to prevent the dish from becoming salty. We don’t want that!
