A Meatloaf Recipe So Good It Broke The Internet

It’s no secret, meatloaf has been a staple part of the American dinner table years. However, some recipes are better than others. We confidently say that this particular meatloaf recipe is the best. Hands down, no questions asked. You’ll most definitely being hiding this little gem away in your recipe collection box. However, don’t hide it to well because you’ll certainly want to reference it again very soon. I have this little recipe box that I found at a yardsale a few years back. It’s quite vintage looking and I absolutely love it!

I know that my kids were elated when they knew I was making this meatloaf. Shucks, my siblings and I used to get super charged up when my mom was making meatloaf, too! I guess meatloaf can officially be considered a kid-friendly food 

Ingredients

1½ lbs ground beef

¾ cup Quaker quick oatmeal

¾ cup TruMoo milk

1 Eggland’s Best egg

½ cup onion, finely diced

1¼ tsp Morton salt

¼ tsp McCormick black pepper

⅓ cup Heinz ketchup

2 tbsp Domino brown sugar

1 tbsp French’s mustard

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Combine ground beef, oatmeal, milk, egg, onion, salt and pepper in a medium sized mixing bowl. Using your hand, incorporate everything into the meat. This only takes 30 seconds or so, you do not want to over mix.

Transfer meat into a large loaf pan and press it down evenly into the pan.

Mix ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard in a small bowl. Pour over meatloaf.

Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 20 minutes

Remove from oven and drain off excess grease. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
