INGREDIENTS

  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • ¼ c. Breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp Whole Milk
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tsp Dried Italian Seasoning
  • 4 Vidalia Onions – peeled, sliced
  • Salt/Pepper
  • 4 tbsp Flour
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 c.+ Water
  • 1 c. Beef Broth
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • ½ tsp Pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1: Mix the ground beef with breadcrumbs, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, seasoning, salt, and pepper until just blended. Then, shape the mixture into meatballs.

Step 2: Into a large pan, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the meatballs to the pan (not overcrowding the pan) and cook until all sides are browned. Transfer the cooked meatballs to a plate when done and set aside.

Step 3: To the pan with the remaining meatballs grease, saute the sliced Vidalia Onions for about two minutes or until the onions have softened. Add the butter and sprinkle the flour a tbsp at a time, stirring well every after each addition.

Step 4: While stirring, gradually pour in the broth, followed by Worcestershire sauce and water. Bring everything to a simmer, then adjust the heat to medium/low.

Step 5: Nestle the meatballs to the pan and continue to cook for an additional to minutes or until the gravy is thick and the meatballs are completely cooked. If needed, you can add extra water.

Step 6: To taste, season with salt and pepper. Serve the meatballs and gravy with onions garnished with some fresh parsley and enjoy over mashed potatoes, rice or noodles.
