Layers of tortillas, ground beef, and salsa con queso, this simple, easy weeknight meal is sure to impress. Also known as Mexican Pizza, this layered taco bake is love!
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 packet taco seasoning
water as called for on the back of the seasoning packet
3 (8”) flour tortillas
½ c. salsa con queso
1 ½-2 c. shredded Mexican cheese blend
HOW TO MAKE EASY LAYERED TACO BAKE
Step 1: Cook the ground beef, breaking the pieces as you go until brown. Drain any excess grease.
Step 2: Following the packet directions, add the taco seasoning and water to the browned beef.
Step 3: Turn the heat off and add into the beef the half cup of salsa con queso.
Step 4: Stir well until completely combined.
Step 5: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees.
Step 6: With nonstick cooking spray, grease an 8-inch round baking pan.
Step 7: With a flour tortilla, layer the bottom of the prepared pan.
Step 8: On the tortilla, add around ⅓ of the ground beef taco filling and top with ⅓ of the shredded cheese.
Step 9: Do the same until all the layers are filled (tortilla, taco mixture, and cheese).
Step 10: Place inside the preheated oven and bake for about 15 to 20 minutes until the cheese has melted and the edges turned a bit golden brown.
Step 11: Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.
Note:
If desired, serve this taco bake with sour cream and diced tomatoes on top.
