INGREDIENTS
- 1 pound Italian sausage
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 red pepper, diced
- 1 yellow pepper, diced
- 1 orange pepper, diced
- 4 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup white wine (like chardonnay)
- 1 can(s) diced tomatoes with juice (28 oz)
- 2 tablespoons parsley
- 1/4 cup basil, fresh
- 12 ounces egg noodles
- Fresh Parmesan cheese, optional
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1: Place a large pot on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
Step 2: Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil and allow it to become hot.
Step 3: Add the spice Italian sausage and crumble it into small pieces. Cook until the colour turns brown.
Step 4: Remove the sausage from the pot and place it in a small mixing bowl.
Step 5: In the same pot, add the bell peppers, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Saute for 2 minutes or until the bell peppers are soft.
Step 6: Add in the garlic and cook until aromatic.
Step 7: Add in white wine and heat until reduced.
Step 8: Add in the diced tomatoes, olive oil and chopped basil. Stir until well combined.
Step 9: Drizzle 3 tablespoons of olive oil.
Step 10: Add in the cooked sausage, chopped parsley, and 1/2 of the Julienned basil. Simmer for 3 to 4 minutes or until well blended.
Step 11: Remove from the heat and prepare the noodles.
Step 12: Refer to the directions provided on the package of the egg noodles.
Step 13: Drain the noodles and add them into the sauce. Mix using tongs until well combined.
Step 14: Spoon into a serving plate and sprinkle the rest of the Julliened basil on top and drizzle with olive oil.
Step 15: Serve and enjoy!
