INSTANT POT CHICKEN RECIPES – HONEY GARLIC CHICKEN

INGREDIENTS

1 1/2 tbsp cooking oil

1 1/2 pounds (0.6 kg) chicken thighs (4 chicken thighs)

Ground black pepper

1 tbsp chopped parsley

4 cloves garlic, minced

Salt

HONEY GARLIC SAUCE:

1 tsp sugar or brown sugar

3 tbsp water or chicken broth, preferred

2 tbsp soy sauce

3 tbsp honey

3 dashes of cayenne pepper

Step 1: Sprinkle the chicken thighs with salt and pepper, then set aside.

Step 2: Whisk the honey garlic sauce ingredients (sugar or brown sugar, water or chicken broth, soy sauce, honey, and cayenne pepper) until well combined and set aside.

Step 3: Set the Instant Pot to Saute. Add 1 tbsp of cooking oil as soon as the pot is hot, then place the chicken thighs to the pot, skin-side down. Pan sear the chicken thighs until nicely browned on both sides.

Step 4: Keep the chicken thighs in the Instant Pot and add the rest of the half tbsp cooking oil along with the garlic. Slightly saute the garlic before pouring in the sauce. Cover the Instant Pot and set to Manual, High Pressure for 10 minutes.

Step 5: Once the time is up, do a Quick Release. Carefully take the lid off when the valve drops, then add the chopped parsley.

Step 6: Serve the chicken right away with the honey garlic sauce. Enjoy!
