INSTRUCTIONS
How to make Easy French Apple Cake
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 180 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
Step 2: Grab a 20 cm or 8-inch round Springform pan and grease or line with baking paper.
Step 3: In the microwave, melt the unsalted butter and let it cool.
Step 4: After peeling the apples, core them, then slice them into small cubes. Set aside.
Step 5: Beat the eggs with brown sugar in a large mixing bowl until foamy. Then, add the melted butter along with the applesauce. Mix well until blended.
Step 6: Combine the dry ingredients (plain flour, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon if desired) until well mixed.
Step 7: Into the cake batter, directly mix the apple slices, evenly covering all the cubes.
Step 8: Into the prepared pan, pour the cake batter. Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 20 to 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle of the cake comes out clean.
Step 9: Remove from the oven when done and serve the cake warm with whipped cream or a big scoop of vanilla ice cream. You can also dust the cake with a little bit of icing sugar and/or cinnamon powder. Alternatively, you can allow the cake to cool completely.
NOTES
If you want to show more of the cubed apples on the cake, you can reserve about 1/4 of the cubed apples to put on the cake batter in the baking pan.
