INGREDIENTS
- 1½ pounds ground beef
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 3-4 garlic cloves minced
- 1 (29 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 can tomato soup
- 1 6 oz. can tomato paste
- 2 pounds chopped cabbage
- 1 cup uncooked white rice
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon sage
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 3 cups water (may need more)
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a large skillet, brown beef in oil over medium high heat until redness is gone. Drain off fat.
- In a large mixing bowl combine the onion, tomato sauce, soup, tomato paste cabbage, rice and spices. Add meat and mix all together. Add 3 cups of water. Pour mixture into a 9×13 inch deep baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven, covered, for 1 hour 15 minutes
