  • 1 lb Jimmy Dean sausage
  • 1 (6oz) box StoveTop stuffing (chicken or turkey)
  • 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. In a medium sauce pan, bring 1 cup of water to a boil and then add the contents of the stuffing. Mix well, remove from heat, and set aside to cool. The idea here is to have slightly moisted stuffing.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the uncooked sausage with the stuffing and cheddar cheese until thoroughly combined.
  3. Roll the mixture into small 1 inch bite-size balls. Pack them tightly so that they hold together when baked.
  4. Place them in the fridge for about an hour, or until you’re ready to bake and serve.
  5. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place the chilled sausage balls onto a parchment line baking sheet and bake for approximately 25 minutes, or until cooked through.

Recipe Notes

  • These are insanely delicious served alone, but you could also serve them with a cranberry dipping sauce.
  • The size of your sausage balls will make a big difference in how long they need to be baked to get the sausage cooked all the way through. Be sure to check for doneness.
