Ingredients

1 lb bacon

1 large head cabbage, chopped

1 large onion, chopped

1 (8 oz) package sliced fresh mushrooms

Salt and ground black pepper to taste

How to make Southern Fried Cabbage with Bacon, Mushrooms, and Onions

Step 1: Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.

Step 2: Add the bacon and cook for 10 minutes or until crispy and brown. ]

Step 3: Place the crispy bacon on a clean plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess grease, then crumble.

Step 4: Remove the bacon grease except for 3 tablespoons in the skillet.

Step 5: Add the cabbage, mushrooms, and onion into the skillet. Saute for 20 minutes or until translucent and brown.

Step 6: Put the bacon back in the skillet and season it with salt and pepper to taste.

Step 7: Serve and enjoy!
