The first step in preparing this delicious recipe is to sort the beans to remove the stones and rinse them under cold water.Step Two: After all of this, you need to add the rinsed beans, onion, salt, pepper, and pork shanks or ham (cut into large chunks) into the slow cooker. Then adding water to covering beans by 2 inches.Step 3: In this step, covering and cooking on low & high for the first 2 hours, then on low and continue cooking for 4-5 hours or until the beans are tender. Then remove the pork shanks and remove all the meat.Step 4: Final Step In this step, you need to put the meat back in the slow cooker, then add the brown sugar. For me, I removing about a C of juice before add brown sugar. It depends on how thick or thin the beans are. Then mix everything lightly. Pour to bowls, serve and enjoy!
