Apple Dumplings are an easy dessert made with apples, crescent dough, a butter sauce, and soda. You can use Mountain Dew or Sprite but the carbonation makes this magic!

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 Granny Smith apples,
  • 2 (8 ounce) cans cans crescent rolls
  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Cinnamon to taste
  • 1 (12 ounce) can Mountain Dew soda (or Sprite)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and spray a 9×13 baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. Peel and core apples. Cut each apple into 8 slices each. Roll each apple slice in a crescent roll. Place in prepared pan.
  3. Stir the melted butter, sugar, and vanilla together. Pour entire mixture over apples. Pour Mountain Dew around the edges of the pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes or until dumplings are golden brown. Serve with ice cream and spoon sauce over the top.
